Constitution of Bayview Church Point Residents Association Incorporated Established 1907 as of May 2026
1. Name
The name of the Association is Bayview Church Point Residents Association Incorporated.
2. Objectives
The objectives of the Association are based on a clear belief that the Bayview-Church Point
area is unique and unlike any other Sydney metropolitan region. As such it is understood
that special care and attention is needed to ensure that sensitive environmental issues are
of prime importance and need to be balanced with controlled development of the area.
• To be a voice for the residents of the area, as well as being responsive to the needs
and criticisms of the majority of people.
• To encourage and preserve the unique environment and quality of life of the area.
• To maintain progress coupled with well thought out and acceptable development of
the area.
• To show strong civic interest in the Pittwater Area as a whole.
• To maintain and encourage ongoing rapport with Local Councilors, Members of
Parliament, Police, and any other Authority to ensure awareness of local issues and
needs.
• To liaise with other bona fide stakeholders to ensure a meaningful voice in local
matters.
3. Membership
Membership is open to all residents of Bayview and Church Point and to other people with
interests in the area aligned with the Objectives of this Constitution and subject to
approval by the Committee.
4. Subscriptions
The Financial Year of the Association is the Calendar Year.
Subscriptions for the current year are payable before the commencement of the
Annual General Meeting held in that year.
A Member is not entitled to vote at any Annual General Meeting of the
Association unless all money due and payable by the Member has been paid.
There is one vote per paid membership.
5. Committee Membership
The Committee shall consist of the Office bearers of the Association and up to eight ordinary Members.
Each of whom shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Association pursuant to the Model Rules
The Office bearers of the Association shall be:
i) The President
ii) The Vice-President
iii) The Secretary
iv) The Treasurer
6. Source of Funds
The Association may derive funds from grants in appropriate circumstances with
the approval of the Committee.
7. Model Rules
Where items are not in Clauses 1 to 7 above the Model Constitution under the
Association Incorporations Act 2009 will apply.
